PE 1
The curriculum for PE 1 consists of a course in which students will be developing skills in Red Cross levels 1-6. Also included in the course are fitness evaluation, water games, basic water safety, stroke advancement, biathlon training, and group games. Minimum swimming requirements are: 1. Rhythmic Breathing 2. Elementary Backstroke - 25 yd. 3. Crawl Stroke - 25 yd. 4. Treading Water - 2 min. 5. Survival Float - 2 min. 6. Dive & Swim under water - 15 ft

The PE 1 final exam consists of a 20 minute run
followed by a 20 minute swim. Their cumulative points from both activities are added together for a final score. Each student is graded on their own improvements from the beginning of the course through the end of the course. There will be multiple opportunities to practice the Biathlon throughout the 45 day course.
